Highlighted Match: Stephen and Gage
This month’s match enjoys shooting each other with everything from laser guns to Nerf darts.
Stephen is a server at Quincy Magoo’s and a recent graduate of Central Bible College.
Gage is a rambunctious 8-year-old that enjoys wildlife, video games and storytelling.
In the time that they have been together they have enjoyed experiencing a new kind of friendship. Stephen says that he never had a brother growing up and Gage is like a little brother to him.
Gage has enjoyed for the first-time having someone around that can share the experiences of being a college-aged young adult.
Stephen shared with us that Gage is a caring and giving person that really wants to do whatever he can to help others. He enjoys hanging out and is very sociable.
Stephen also shared that they have “learned to appreciate what we can do to help others even if we don’t have much to offer.” They have practiced this through volunteering with Convoy of Hope.
He went on to share some wisdom for new mentors. “Be very open…find out what they want to do…and give it time.”
